Summary
The LTU Phono Lab was a student driven effort to create a convenient and capable work space where Audio Engineering Technology students at Lawrence Technological University could practice and develop their skills. The Phono Lab is open to all Audio Engineering Technology students as well as Media Communications students.
The project was crowdfunded and successfully completed by the end of June 2016, surpassing expectations. Housing professional equipment such as microphones, an audio interface, and various instruments, the Phono Lab is geared toward audio production as much as acoustic analysis. Students only need to bring their personal or school supplied laptops, loaded with their choice of software, to be able to interface with the production equipment in the room. Additionally, a dedicated Easera set-up is supplied for students to perform professional level acoustic analysis.
